There have been several questions on how to use the Yahoo! combo handler to serve YUI files over SSL. The Yahoo! combo handler doesn’t support SSL, so I needed another option.
I have written an example what shows how to setup a local combo handler and configure YUI 2.6.0 to use it.
Currently the example doesn’t work for YUI 3.0.0pr1 but it will once YUI 3.0.0pr2 is released.

My hosting provider is upgrading PHP on my server to 5.x tonight, hopefully all of my examples and site will continue to function.
If you notice any of my examples failing, please feel free to email me and let me know, there are 159 examples, so I’ll have a hard time checking them all
Thanks
Dav

I just updated my YUI Rich Text Editor plugin for the 2.4.0 release. I have fixed a couple of issues and checked to make sure the plugin works on WordPress 2.3x as well as the 2.2x version.
I also changed out the comments Editor with the new SimpleEditor Control. It will help with those concerned about page weight.
Enjoy

Today, the YUI team released version 2.3.0 of the library and it contains my Rich Text Editor. So I decided to build a plugin for WordPress that allows you to use that editor for blog posts as well as comments.
You can download the plugin here.
You can demo the plugin here: http://rte.davglass.com
The posting and comments feature of the plugin has also been activated, you can test the post editor by logging in with the username and password of: rte
Please be nice with the posts and the comments or I will have to turn off the demo.
I have the plugin installed on this site, so you should now see it in action when you make a comment
Enjoy
Dav
Note, I just found out that WordPress is filtering the content coming from the editor.. Let me get that patched. I’ll post an update when that is fixed..

The Yahoo! Developer Network released a new set of API’s today. They opened up the “Yahoo! Mail Web Service APIs“. This set of API’s is possibly the best set to ever be released..
Back in Dec I posted about my latest win at Hack Day (you can read about that here). Well, now that the API’s have been released, I can show you my winning hack
Note: This hack was built in around 12 hours and it has not been tested! The code is messy and could have been done better, but I wanted to get as much done as possible so I hacked it quite a bit!
So now on to the hack…
My hack was called “CandyGram Lite” and it was an attempt to rebuild the new Yahoo! Mail Beta with semantic markup and using the YUI tools. Not only to make it faster, but to make it work in all Grade A Browsers.
Enough of the yapping, here’s the link:

You will need a Yahoo! Mail account in order to use it. If you don’t have one, get one here.
Please be gentle on my server

Hey all –
I am relocating my site to a new host. The transfer should be transparent, but you never know
I have updated the current site to make the header bar green, so if you see the header in green then you are on the old site. If the header is still blue then you are on the new host.
Please drop me a note if you see anything that doesn’t work properly.
Thanks
Dav
Update: The server move is complete, so you should be seeing these pages from the new server..
Again, let me know if you see anything that doesn’t work.. Dav

Just an FYI, the site’s layout is a bit screwy at the moment.. Trying to import & use the YUI CSS fonts, rest & grids files.
Hopefully I will get it all lined out tonight
Update: I got the site migrated over to the YUI Grids CSS.. There may be a few things left to tweek, but I think it’s ok for now.. Let me know what you think or if you run into any “glitches”..
