Thanks for the email Dav. Returning false, from the click handler, prevented the Editor from ending up with focus.
Really great work on the editor. I love working with it. I was trying to set up a function that would open a Panel from a button click on the toolbar and give the form in the Panel focus. But I am unable to get focus away from the Editor. I noticed that the [http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/examples/layout/adv_layout_source.html] complex example has the same issue. To replicate in the complex application click “new message” -> put the cursor in the editor -> “attach” and then type you will still be typing in the editor even though there is a Dialog open and the page is light-boxed. This is what happens in my application even if I call focus() on another element. Do you have any suggestions to get focus away from the Editor?Im using Firefox/2.0.0.11 Mac OSX
Oh ok, thanks for the clarification, I hope you do get time though. Would be a very exciting and useful feature.
@Jermaine –
Actually vBulletin converts their iframe editor to a textarea when it’s viewed on the iPhone. I “want” to add that support for the YUi RTE if I have time to get it into 2.6.0. But I can’t make any promises..
Do you mean that the functionality of the RTE i.e. the buttons etc.. doesn’t work? Or that the entire “textarea” element isn’t recognised?(vBulletin’s rich text editor works fine on the iPhone/iTouch)
@Jermaine –
Thanks
It should be noted that the RTE doesn’t work on the iPhone, the iPhone doesn’t support a selection model and it doesn’t know that the Editor is an editable area
Wow, that’s awesome! I’m now about to start using YUI grids and the YUI rich text editor for a new website design i’m working on. I’m contemplating improving on my MySQL PHP Class so I can begin work on my own mini CMS system. With the YUI rich text editor intergrated into it.On a side note: Your footer says “David Glass”; and yes i’m actually that sad to sit there and calculate it.
If their ratio of geeks to bikers is low, that means they have a lot outlaw bikers, right?
