Introducing YUI CSS Grid Builder
The YUI grids CSS libraries are fantastic (thanks Nate), but they can be quite complex. So following in the footsteps of my other YUI Tools, I have made them a little easier.
Using my new YUI CSS Grid Builder, you can now see what the page will look like before you even code it
It should support all of the grids templates as well as every combination of special grids.
I even added support for over-writing the default page size.
Drop me a note to let me know what you think.

Great job Dav!It is a great tool and i will save a lot of time!!! I think that u can improve this tool adding a text box to set custom page size because slider doesnt allow to set size accurate at px

Thanks..
The first version did that, but I was trying to make it “easier”. I’ll add that back into the next update tonight

I just updated the Builders js file to allow for the user to set the body size without using the slider.
However, in some cases the slider will “pick” a different value than the one that the user specified.. (Math problem, that I still need to work out.)

The grids are all done via the YUI CSS Grids Library:

The interface for my builder is built with the YUI Libraries:

Looks kind of similar to the proof of concept I sent along to the YUI list in May 2006… http://mattwarden.com/grids/

@Matt –
Yeah it does, I wasn’t on that list then (I didn’t start posting until June) & I don’t search it

great idea… how come it doesn’t allow you to put in specific width? like 920px. Also can you tell me why the other widths like 950px are standards?
