Sorry for the delay in posting, but last week was pretty hectic. In other news, Donna & Zach arrived safe and sound on Saturday.
We are still in the process of cleaning up the house & getting settled. I’ll post more later when I get the time.
Well, I haven’t been able to post anything since I left Illinois. So here are the details of the trip.
My apologies for using google maps, but Yahoo!’s maps seem to be having an issue today.
Well, I am about to take off for California. Posting will be a bit slow for the next few days, hopefully I will find some hotels that have a “business center” in them so I can check my email & post my progress. Donna & Zach are scheduled to leave next Saturday the 20th.
I have never driven cross country before, so this should be an intersting drive.
Wish me luck.
Well, today is my last day at SchoolCenter. Over the last 6+ years it’s been a wild ride, but the time has come for this ride to end & a new one to begin. I will be heading out on Tuesday May 9th for California & my new position with Yahoo! will begin on the 15th.
I am very excited about this new adventure, I am hoping that this new experience will be a great one. Judging from my experiences with Yahoo! so far, I am expecting this to be a really enjoyable change. It’s been a little tough for our families, but for the most part, they are happy for us.
I will try to post more from the road next week, so bye for now.
Some of my co-workers took me out for a going away party last night. It was pretty kewl to hang out with them, considering that I don’t/haven’t really done that a lot in the last few years (usually way too busy).
It was really enjoyable, so if they are reading this, Thanks!
The picture that I have attached is of one of my fellow programmers caught in the act of “smoking”. I never thought I would see Matt smoking, but I have the picture to prove it.
I saw this ad on TV last night, Apple always makes some really good TV ads & these are some of the best. My only concern is that now that they are “bragging” about not having any known virii, all of the virus writers will start attacking Mac’s. The good thing is that “most” unix hackers are true hackers & not script kiddies, so they will be less likely to write them.
Sorry I haven’t posted much lately, but with all of the things that I have going on right now; it’s been a little stressful. Well 8 days from now I will be heading out for California. It’s going to be an interesting drive. I have never driven across country before so it should be a fun trip. If I’m lucky I’ll pick some hotels with internet access so I can post my progress. I plan on taking in a few of the sites on my way & of course I will have to stop and pickup something at every Harley shop I see. Maybe I’ll get to take some picture of the “the largest ball of twine” and other such oddities as well.
